The Snowprint motto, mission statement, or whatever you want to call it:

“We create rich experiences for the everyday gamer.”

A lot of heart went into this sentence, and it drives everything we do, so we’d like to talk about what it means here at Snowprint.

What is an everyday gamer?

Well, for starters, we are everyday gamers. Or more accurately, we’re “every-day” gamers with games built into our lives. We’ve played games on trains, waiting for buses, trying to fall asleep at night, and with babies on our laps. We don’t just play games as time sinks because we’re bored, though, and it’s way more than a job. This is the thing that connects us with our family and friends — we have lifelong friendships with people we’ve met in and through games.

For an every day gamer, there’s much more than the game itself. We love to talk about the games, figure out strategies, work with our friends to achieve big things, and have passionate discussions with strangers. We wear our fandom in public, with cosplay and tshirts and our coffee mugs. Even tattoos! Games have been a passion for us for most of our time on this planet, and it’s part of our identity.

If you feel this way, you’re one of us.

There’s a whole bunch of people out there who may not realize they too are every day gamers. If you were born with a mobile device in your hands, you’ve grown up with mobile games as a default. A game is something that’s always been there whenever you had a minute, and playing something every day is completely normal for you. We want you to know you’re also one of us, and there are so many great, rich experiences waiting for you. Serious gaming is no longer reserved for people with hours to spend in front of a monitor, or something you have to schedule for 7 PM on a Tuesday.

We want to make games for people who are fitting games into busy lives, but consider gaming to be their hobby — something worth spending time on. And we want our games to be equally compelling whether you’re squeezing in five minutes, or spending an hour relaxing with a glass of wine and your character on the couch.

One note: Every day gamers are not new to games. We’re glad that there are tons of options for brand new gamers to learn about the hobby! But we’re not making those sorts of games. We assume that our community is made up of people who already know the basics, and are looking for more depth and sophistication. Richer experiences, even. If that’s you, then you too are one of us.

(So what is a rich experience? Join us for part two!)
